UPDATE December 08

Mairead or "Maggie" as we call her, is about 12 months old now. Maggie is a black and white smooth coated border collie. Maggie NEEDS A JOB!

Maggie is a sweetheart and gets along with everyone! Even though she needs a job to do, she is not a really 'serious' type of BC in temperment- she likes to have fun and is lighthearted. Maggie loves people and does great at public events. She also gets along with kids great, but could be a little too rambunctous for a home with small children.
She gets along with both male and female dogs and absolutely loves to play. Maggie really likes 'meet and greet' events because she gets to play with Mungo and Dudley. Those three could play all day together!

Maggie is house trained and crate trained. Maggie knows some basic obedience and is very eager to learn whatever you would like to teach her! She really wants to please. She is a very intelligent and energetic girl and really needs a job to do.
Maggs was herding tested a couple months ago. The person that herding tests dogs for us said that she was more of a "chaser", meaning she wanted to just chase the sheep instead of wanting to gather the sheep to a handler as Border Collies usually do.

We do feel that Maggie would make a perfect agility dog and would enjoy other dog sports as well. She is very athletic and seems to have endless energy. She is always thinking and she is very active. She is very eager to learn and takes to new ideas well. If you do not give her something to do, she will usually make something to do!!!

Maggie is crate trained and usually stays in her crate while her family is not home. She has never destroyed anything in the house, but if left to her own devices for too long, she finds something to do...like re-arranging the house. If Maggie gets too bored she will move chairs, pull rugs around, and has even climbed on top of the fridge when she was younger! Once again she needs a job to do! :)
Maggie does have good house manners and likes spending time with her family and the resident dogs. Her foster Mom reports that she will now settle down and just relax with the family a bit too. :)

Maggie is a great dog and a sweetheart. She is very smart and willing to please. Maggie will do best in an active home where she has a "job" to do.
