Artan is a 7 month old brindle purebred male border collie.  Artan is one of the dogs rescued from Oklahoma. Read about the "Oklahoma Dogs" HERE

Artie has been in his foster home for just a few days and is doing remarkably well.

He does not like to be left alone in his crate, and will bark, bark, bark, howl until he gets attention. We are working on this. He does bark when mom leaves for work, but quiets down before she is out of the driveway. Artie loves to be with his people and pack.

Artie allows full body petting, kisses on his head, and playing with his paws. He loves ear scratches and
muzzle rubs.  He has fallen right in line with his foster sisters and has been accepted as the new guy on the block. So far he seems fine with the family cat. Artie is doing wonderful on a leash. So far we have not gone out in public but he will trot along for laps in the yard. Art has learned to do steps, and is much better about crossing thresholds.

When he first arrived he was hesitant to come out of his crate or in / out of a door without coaxing. He is very content to lay in the grass and soak up the sunshine. And best of all, though he has not earned many liberties (yet) he is showing top notch house manners. Considering where he came from, he is learning very quickly.

As Artie is coming out of his shell and showing interest in playing. He likes tug and is curious about balls. There is no doubt he is going to be a really fun dog!
