Brock is a male border collie. He's about 5 years old and is a sweet, sweet, sweet boy!  He loves to be petted and kissed and hugged.  He loves belly rubs!  I have pulled his ears, toes, tail, woken him out of a deep sleep, taken away his food while he was eating and he never even flinched.  He doesn't care about cats and really isn't interested in my dogs at all.  He knows sit, down, speak, shake, roll over, come, wait, and stay.  He is soooo good at stay. I can put him in a stay, walk all the way upstairs, around the corner and back down and he will still be sitting there at perfect attention. He loves everybody and everyone can pet him as much as they want he will soak it up!
Brock does like to counter surf (butter and the occasional pork chop are favorites), and we are working on this issue. He will bolt out the door if he isn't told to sit and wait first.  But when he is made to sit and wait, he will stay forever!  He doesn't even blink until I give the ok. Brock wants to be wherever I am. Baby gates are no problem for him - he jumps or crawls under them. Brock is crate trained, but really doesn't prefer his crate. He really wants to be with his person and will whine/bark and stomp his paws when left alone in his crate. I started letting him come with me around the house (my dogs are not allowed on the carpeted areas of the house) and he has never misbehaved.  Brock doesn't have bathroom accidents and he doesn't chew things like socks or pillows.

When the sun goes down he is asleep for the night. Brock will not get up on his own unless I make him if it is after 7 PM! He kind of is a bed hog, but will sleep on the floor if I roll around too much.  When we go for rides in the car he bounces back and forth from window to window.  Maybe a little anxiety there, but I think he might just be excited too.  We are taking more rides just for fun and working on laying down while the car is moving.  He does tend to lay on the floor of the car sometimes and seems very happy there.  When I go on a long drive (not the stop and start driving in town) he does great.  He just lays there quietly and falls asleep.
Brock is obedient and is a great companion. This kind of dog is one in a million!
